The Team Mids Pillgrumage

It’s almost like we planned this, cause the planets have aligned, forces of stoke have been felt, and positive vibrations have been received causing both Stretch House Media and Skate The East to come back from the dead AT THE SAME DAMN TIME.

THAT’S RIGHT, WE’RE BACK MOTHA TRUCKAS!

Team Mids Pillgrumage

Peep the newest video out of Stretch House Media, the video child of Eric Roth and one of the official Team Mids video accounts. Team Mids takes New England by storm again and getting cobbled up and shredding some sandy, gnar runs with some clllllassssssssic janky as all hell pavement.

Peep the video below and leave a comment here on the site letting us know how happy you are to see us back in action. Make sure you’re subscribed to our mailing list below so you never miss out on the dank dank as it comes out.

Team Mids Down Undahhh

Team Mids

The boys from Eastachusetts grabbed the van and headed from one land of accents to another, meeting up with the AGP Downhill boys to skate one of the south’s most gnarly and entertaining runs, both to skate and watch. This video features the Team Mids homies Norm “The” Plante, East Coast Mac, Pete Laugh, and Tom Leary.

Team Mids vs Mordor

Team Mids took a rather epic road trip this summer down south in search of some legendary hills seen only in legendary films skated by legendary people on legendary days legendary legendary legendary. Sorry, got off topic there for a second. Anyways they boys cruised through the night after leaving Ed Garner’s spot in Maryland and arrived early to link up with the Asheville Ganja Patrol and dawn patrol one of the most epic runs on the east coast, Mordor.

This is another East Coast Mac on the film and edit featuring the steezy stylings of Norman Plante and Pete “Hahaha” Laugh. These guys were going fast together all summer, and if you remember seeing our last post featuring them, they’re not half bad at it…more like really good at it. We’re stoked to see more dank footy outta the homies and can’t wait to see what else they’ve got stashed in the Mids Van for the near future.

Check out the edit and leave us a comment below with what you thought.

Video: Team Mids Take Western MA

With the 4th Annual Central Massachusetts Longboard Festival behind us Norm Plante, Pete Laugh, and East Coast Mac from our favorite group of riders, Team Mids, packed the Mids Van and set the cruise control to 65 MPH to head out to our home stomping ground: Western MA.

Home to gems such as Six Flags New England, Skate The East HQ, and DiPi’s biggest and best rap playlists, the boys left nothing un-steamed and produced a fast and MEATY edit showcasing what will surely be a new favorite run, Bunion. We’re stoked to see the guys getting out to the place that we call home and helping to shine a little light on whats to come, as this isn’t even the tip of the iceberg. With this surge of Midiness I think one question remains: will we see a return of the MidsList?

Norm rides for Valhalla Longboards and Cadillac Wheels, Pete and East Coast Mac rep the east.

Video: GMR vs. Team Mids

Some of the original Team Mids members packed their skate van up and headed west for the winter to discover what all the hype was about. Ben DeSnyder was already out there doing some covert spy work going to school and scamming runs on the regular and took the reigns on the camera so that Pete Laugh, Stephan Kaiter-Snyder, Tryan George, East Coast Mac , Francis Cooper Darquea and Kai Salam could put in some work and get midsy on GMR. We weren’t keeping score, but it definitely looked like Team Mids won.

Score so far: Team Mids: 1      West Coast: 0

Video: Shred Sessions Vol. II w/ Team Mids, Billy Wilson, and Liam Morgan

The Newington Slide Jam went down Saturday in Central Connecticut and boy did it bring the HEAT. Riders from all over the Northeast came to compete and shred together for what ended up being an epic day of steamers, we’ll have a full write-up of the event in the days to come. While the event itself was off the hook, it was the after session with Billy Wilson, Team Mids, Liam Morgan, and a handfull of other select guests that had people talking for hours and asking themselves, “what the hell just happened?!” I took a quick break from skating to take some moving pictures and boy am I happy I did. I ended up with just enough clips to string together Volume II of our ongoing video series “Shred Sessions,” which you can find below. I’ve also copy and pasted the description from YouTube below, as well.

Having warmed up earlier in the day at the Newington Slide Jam and beating the heat by swimming in the nearby Farmington River Team Mids, Billy Wilson, Liam Morgan, and many more hit one of the local freeride spots to lay some thane and have one of the most epic sessions of all time. Unfortunately I spent more time skating than I did filming, so this is but a taste of what these guys were throwing. When we finally left the road there was more thane than asphalt in some areas, with triple digit lines all over.

Team Mids Presents: A Day of Downhill at Prospector Hill (MA — 5/5/12)

If you’re looking for some absolutely fun downhill action then this is the event to be at. Going down on May 5th, Team Mids is hosting a downhill race 20 minutes outside of Boston in Waltham, MA at “Prospector Hill.” The exact location will be announced as the race draws near to prevent it from being blown up too early, if you’d like to skate it before the race feel free to contact the host via Facebook. The race will feature 3 man heats with the top 2 moving on to the next round and will be on a closed course with top speeds in the 40s. Sound fun yet? It gets better.

In true East Coast fashion the course is a little janky and will surely cause some spills for first-time riders as it requires some high speed speed-checks to get around the 9 challenging turns. The course length is 3/4 of a mile and has 2 very short push sections. The course is dangerous while riding in packs, especially for those who aren’t used to it, so a helmet and gloves are going to be required and every racer will also need to sign and submit a waiver. It’s all going to start at 11:00AM but we recommend getting there a little early to walk the course, get ready, and talk to the event organizers a little bit.

For this same reason there will be qualifying runs to keep safety as high as possible (we have a note on how they’ll judge who is fit to race and who isn’t below). Race fees are paid on the race day after you qualify and will help pay for  water and other essentials (I’ve also heard the possibility of a cash prize!).  Not only that, but any profits are being donated to Restorative Justice, so your fees are going to a good spot no matter what which should stoke you out even more!

So how are they doing qualifying you ask?

About qualifications:
The admins of this event will position themselves at the most challenging corner of the hill, and the prospecting racers will skate into the corner as best they can. We will see whether or not you’re fit to race (don’t worry, we’ll be very forgiving and will be able to recognize skill even if you don’t make the turn). This will be hilarious to watch.

A large number of high quality sponsors are throwing in some swag for the event such as Lifelong Longboards, Loaded/Orangatang, Bustin’ Boards, Passion Skate Decks and a number of others. This is also one of the first events we’re helping to sponsor and are super stoked to be a part of it!

Check out a couple of videos the guys did to promote the race, the first of which is one of the funniest promo videos I’ve ever seen. The second video does a very good job at showing you the whole course including the push sections. Props to Stretch House Media’s Eric Roth on those.

Peep the flyer below and feel free to comment below with any questions or pop over to the Facebook Event and ask there.

Video: Team Mids Storms CT

I met up with some of the usual CT homies such as Andrew Supertramp, Laura Nocka, and Jack Woods to go meet the guys from Team Mids who were back in town to shred Freeride Heaven. The guys were shredding hard by the time we got there and had already laid down a solid amount of thane in the hour or so they had been warming up. I’m currently on crutches due to a skiing accident (see what happens when you DON’T skate kids?) so I wasn’t as mobile as I usually am and couldn’t get some of the best shots of the day but still managed to capture some of Team Mids steeze in a short and sweet edit for y’all.

Big shout outs to Eric Roth, Norman Plante, Matt Driscoll, Kieran Kaiter-Snyder and Hughie Allen from CT.

Make sure you peep it in 1080p for it’s full glory.
