Rider Profile: Eric Roth

People familiar with the New England longboard scene have undoubtably run across or heard about Eric Roth, one of the charter members of the infamous Team Mids crew out of Central Massachusetts. Eric shreds hard and has a style that mixes it up between techy, multi-trick combo lines and fast, drifty, long slides with added steeze as he goes and has made quite the name for himself over the past year or so of shredding.

After taking home first place at least summer’s 2nd Annual Central MA Freeride Competition¬†and proving that he was amongst the best skaters in New England, Eric took advantage of the mild winter to produce well over a dozen edits on his YouTube channel Stretch House Media, showing that he is also amongst the best videographers and editors in New England as well. When he’s not skating in his home stomping grounds of Central/Eastern Massachusetts he can be found behind the computer pursuing his second love (no, not trolling YouTube and Facebook) of DJ-ing and producing electronic music. Check out his work on his SoundCloud and peep some of his tunes at the end of his rider profile.

Eric is one of the most fun people you can skate with and is every bit as gnarly as people say he is, peep the profile a few times and get a little more familiar with a face you’ll certainly see more of.

Rider Profile: Bruce Clark

Bruce Clark is known to many Connecticut and Massachusetts shredders for his fearlessly fast heelside and toeside slides and his all around stoked-out attitude that turns almost every session into one filled with progression of all sorts. We’ve been meaning to make a rider profile for Bruce since the summer and finally got around to it today, just weeks before Bruce makes a semi-permanent move out to Santa Cruz, CA. This is just a taste of what this young ripper has in his basket of tricks, something we hope we’ll get to explore more soon.

Rider Profile: Henry Goguen

One of the main reasons I started Skate The East was to shine a light on East Coast skaters and give them a little more exposure. While I’ve been able to do that a little through posting dank videos from East Coast riders, I’ve been wanting to step it up a little more for some time now. One thing that’s been kicking around in the back of my mind has been the idea of doing rider profiles: short clips that introduce you to a new shredder who you might not have heard of yet, show you a little of what they got, and show people that the East Coast has some real rippers indeed. Well folks, here’s our first one.

Henry Goguen is from Washington, D.C. originally but currently calls UMASS Amherst his home. He’s a perfect example of an East Coast all-around shredder who just wants to go out, throw down, and have fun and we’re honored to have him be our first Rider Profile. Keep your eyes peeled because we think you’ll start to see Henry in a lot more places as the season goes on.
