The Team Mids Pillgrumage

It’s almost like we planned this, cause the planets have aligned, forces of stoke have been felt, and positive vibrations have been received causing both Stretch House Media and Skate The East to come back from the dead AT THE SAME DAMN TIME.

THAT’S RIGHT, WE’RE BACK MOTHA TRUCKAS!

Team Mids Pillgrumage

Peep the newest video out of Stretch House Media, the video child of Eric Roth and one of the official Team Mids video accounts. Team Mids takes New England by storm again and getting cobbled up and shredding some sandy, gnar runs with some clllllassssssssic janky as all hell pavement.

Peep the video below and leave a comment here on the site letting us know how happy you are to see us back in action. Make sure you’re subscribed to our mailing list below so you never miss out on the dank dank as it comes out.

Video: Tom Leary Drops The Hammer

Our newest writer and internet video wiz kid Tom Leary dropped a new video a couple of days ago on his personal account called “The Hammer.” Featuring Holliston, MA locals back from college, Eric Roth and Norm Plante, in addition to Tom himself, the video showcases some real fast freeriding and raw as hell runs in the mountains of New England. All three of these guys are getting progressively better every time we see footage of them, this time is no exception. Check it out and let us know what you think in the comments section below.

Video: Eric Roth does G-Form and Skate The East

I’ve been waiting for this video to drop since Eric and Tom filmed it. Eric slays some fast and gnarly 360’s and the accoutrement is absolutely killer. To top it all off this is one of the best edited videos I’ve seen from Tom, implementing some next level techniques and showcasing the fact that he’s really begun stepping his production levels up.

Also — can you see Eric’s G-Form pads holding him back at all? That’s what we thought. Look for our video review in the near future.

Video: Tom Leary Gets Wide and Meaty with Eric Roth

Tom Leary got some new camera gear for Christmas which means great things for you and I, since his videos are bound to only get better and better. He got together with Eric Roth before the snow decided to ruin our fun for a little and filmed a fun as hell little edit featuring the prototype Nelson Longboards DK. Eric is entertaining as always bringing the heat with his usual steezey checks and hitting a dope gap that looks all too fun. Check it out and show some love.

UPDATE: Graham Fedderson was also there. Check out his Lego Crane review.

Videos: Saturday Wake Up Calls with Roth and Burkus

Let’s talk rad new videos shall we? Friends of the site Eric Roth and Nick Burkus have both released two new absolute STEAMERS over the last day or so and I just can’t sit here and not share them with you.

First up Tom Leary, Norman Plante, and Nick Burkus all get together to shred Team Mids’ home turf in Massachusetts and ended up with one of the most badass videos I’ve seen this summer. It’s tons of fun and shows a lot of progression from all three of these guys. Burkus had my favorite part in the video (not just because he gave our I REP THE EAST stickers a huge shout out) so make sure you keep your eyes glued from around 2:20 on.

Next we have Eric Roth’s new video for Nelson/FoeJo where he decides to demolish anything anyone has ever done on a Stingray KT and make most people feel generally inferior about their ability to ride one. Roth takes his nasty gnar style to the next level and shows how versatile and fun that Stingray KT actually is. Rich Nelson came in heavy with the film and edit on this one with some next level boom shots that add that “next level gamechanger” (as Eric would say) feel to the video.

As always make sure you Subscribe to us on YouTube, Like us on Facebook, and Follow on Twitter to make sure you stay in the loop. I’m out filming with Team Tangy, Norman Plante, Henry Lancaster-Goguen and others today so make sure you’re subscribed to get the news for when the footy from today drops!

Video: Shred Sessions Vol. II w/ Team Mids, Billy Wilson, and Liam Morgan

The Newington Slide Jam went down Saturday in Central Connecticut and boy did it bring the HEAT. Riders from all over the Northeast came to compete and shred together for what ended up being an epic day of steamers, we’ll have a full write-up of the event in the days to come. While the event itself was off the hook, it was the after session with Billy Wilson, Team Mids, Liam Morgan, and a handfull of other select guests that had people talking for hours and asking themselves, “what the hell just happened?!” I took a quick break from skating to take some moving pictures and boy am I happy I did. I ended up with just enough clips to string together Volume II of our ongoing video series “Shred Sessions,” which you can find below. I’ve also copy and pasted the description from YouTube below, as well.

Having warmed up earlier in the day at the Newington Slide Jam and beating the heat by swimming in the nearby Farmington River Team Mids, Billy Wilson, Liam Morgan, and many more hit one of the local freeride spots to lay some thane and have one of the most epic sessions of all time. Unfortunately I spent more time skating than I did filming, so this is but a taste of what these guys were throwing. When we finally left the road there was more thane than asphalt in some areas, with triple digit lines all over.

Newington Slide Jam w/ special guest Liam Morgan

I’ve been a bit behind with posts lately but had to make sure I got the word out about the slide jam that Billy Wilson has been putting together for a while and Skate The East is helping to host that’s going down THIS SATURDAY, June 30th in Newington, CT. This event is going to be one of the best slide jams of the summer without a doubt with riders coming in from all over to session what is in my opinion one of the best freeride hills Southern New England.

We’ll have a few different categories for prizes along with your usual top 3 (longest slide, best trick, etc.) but the main point of this event is to come out and GET STOKED! This is seriously a great hill so be excited, Billy and I have been dreaming about doing an event here since this past fall.

The event itself is taking place on Stage Coach Lane in Newington, CT. Note the space in “Stage Coach,” there is another road named Stagecoach Lane in nearby Rocky Hill, CT — THEY ARE NOT THE SAME PLACE! People end up at the wrong road all the time, so make sure you put that space in between the two words. You should plan to park at the bottom of the hill on Little Brook Drive, make sure cars are  only parking on one side of the road — we don’t want to impede traffic. There are little side streets that cut off of Little Brook Drive that you’re free to park on as well, such as Valley View Drive. Alternate parking is at the top of the hill off of Lamplighter Lane.

Registration will be starting at around 10:30AM, as you walk up the hill you’ll see a vacant lot off of Trotter Lane where Billy and I will have tables set up and possibly a small tent for you to come and register under. Come, give your name and get a number assigned to you. Unless you register, we’ll have no clue how to know who was who when it comes time to decide winners.

Rules are pretty loose, you must wear a helmet to compete but all other safety gear (helmets, knee pads, etc) are encouraged, but not required. Let’s stay away from any public drinking and refrain from poking smot (that’s smoking the devil’s lettuce for you that don’t follow too close) near the hill or your cars please, it’s a residential neighborhood so let’s be respectful to the people that live there. That really is the biggest rule guys, be ultra respectful to the people that live in this neighborhood. This is a hill that Billy and I skate a LOT, it’s our home hill and we have a good relationship with the neighbors and intend to keep it that way. Pick up your litter, be respectful, and let people get to and from their houses if they’re driving through and this thing is going to go off without a hitch.

One thing I forgot to mention is Comet Skateboards and Caliber rider Liam Morgan is going to be in attendance along with plenty of other riders we’ve been featuring regularly including Nelson’s newest team member Eric Roth. Join the Facebook Event for any additional and last minute details as they’ll be communicated through a message to attendees, although we’ll also update our Facebook Page and Twitter account as well.

Rider Profile: Eric Roth

People familiar with the New England longboard scene have undoubtably run across or heard about Eric Roth, one of the charter members of the infamous Team Mids crew out of Central Massachusetts. Eric shreds hard and has a style that mixes it up between techy, multi-trick combo lines and fast, drifty, long slides with added steeze as he goes and has made quite the name for himself over the past year or so of shredding.

After taking home first place at least summer’s 2nd Annual Central MA Freeride Competition and proving that he was amongst the best skaters in New England, Eric took advantage of the mild winter to produce well over a dozen edits on his YouTube channel Stretch House Media, showing that he is also amongst the best videographers and editors in New England as well. When he’s not skating in his home stomping grounds of Central/Eastern Massachusetts he can be found behind the computer pursuing his second love (no, not trolling YouTube and Facebook) of DJ-ing and producing electronic music. Check out his work on his SoundCloud and peep some of his tunes at the end of his rider profile.

Eric is one of the most fun people you can skate with and is every bit as gnarly as people say he is, peep the profile a few times and get a little more familiar with a face you’ll certainly see more of.

Video: East Coast Cookin’ with the Swag Shuffle

While we’re still running our give-away, where you can enter to win a set of Orangatang 80a Stimulus wheels, we figured we’d return to our regular programming and bring you a little TGIF/East Coast video steez.

Friend of the site Mike Girard sent me the final version of his edit from his time back home shredding with Norman Plante and Eric Roth over Thanksgiving. Mike posted a teaser on his Tumblr a little while back showing some absolutely steezy swaged out standies but now we’ve got the whole thing. Sure enough, as promised, Mike and his boys went hard, swaging so hard even the Based God Lil B himself would be proud.

Make sure to keep an eye on Eden Racing’s Norman Plante, he absolutely shreds, making shuv-its and big standees look toooooo easy.

Don’t forget to head over to our Facebook Page to enter the chance to win a set of 80a Stimulus wheels from Skate The East and Orangatang!
